9 Happy Months

Cameron and I are coming up on 9 months of marriage! I cant believe how fast time has flown. It has honestly been the best 9 months of my life! Since I am the worlds biggest slacker on writing on my blog, I wanted to do a catch up post from the last 9 months to show what Cameron and I have been up to. September: This month was pretty slow. We got home from our honeymoon in time for me to start school. Yippee lol. We also attended a few wedding this month, including Tyler and Mandy's wedding! It was really exciting to see them get married and was a beautiful wedding. We spent a lot of time getting our new apt all put together and finding places for my things and for all of the wedding gifts. We also took a date night and went to the Utah State Fair with Joe and Amberly. It was fun! We even spent a dollar each to see the big alligator (We still have no idea why it was worth a dollar lol but we did it-you only live once) that night lol.

October: October was a pretty good month. We were both still really busy with school and work but it was good. We realized this month that we really hated where we were living and began looking for a new apt. So that kept us busy. I also had been thinking about coloring my hair brown for awhile and finally decided to do it. I have liked it, and enjoyed the stress free care, however I still really miss being blonde.

November: November was a very busy but exciting month. To begin with, Kyle came home from serving a full time mission in Ghana Africa! We were so proud of him and all that he accomplished. It was so great to see him! But it was also kind of fun/funny to introduce my brother to my husband...usually the family meets your husband before getting married lol. But it was fun. Shortly after Kyle got home, Whit got to take her endowments out for her to be married. That was a really awesome experience to get to do with Whit. Then a couple of days later Whitnee and Justin were married in the Draper Temple. We were so excited for them! We love Justin! Following all of the festivities it was time for Thanksgiving. We spent Thanksgiving with my Dad and Marilyn's family. It was a really great Thanksgiving and full of family time. We loved it. We even got to eat at Little America for Thanksgiving and then have the big family dinner the next day. Thanksgiving was great. This month Cameron started an amazing new job with the church doing shipping and receiving in the food services dept. He started out part time and then was offered full time hours. It was really such a big blessing in our lives!

December: December was full of activities and just plain busy! Cameron was busy working full time and I was trying to finish up the semester and work, all while trying to get ready for the holidays and still stay sane. Cameron was amazing at keeping me calm and helping me out. I finished up the semester jsut in time for the holidays. We got to enjoy some quality time with Cameron's siblings before they went home for the holidays. We had Jenna and Julia stay with us for a few days. One of the days Chris and Taylor came up and all of us had a mini Christmas where we opened gifts, went to dinner and then went to temple square and saw the lights. It was really fun! Then came Christmas. We got to spend this Christmas with my family. It was busy but fun!Christmas eve we spent with my mom and Jeff. We had a fun night filled with food, family and gifts. It was a great. We started Christmas day out by going to breakfast with Marilyn's family, then went to my moms family, followed by my dads family and then back to Marilyn's family for dinner. It was a long day but really great. And even more great is how much Cameron had spoiled me! He really is amazing!It was a crazy month but very great. To make the month even more crazy, we moved into a new apt. It was such a big improvement over the last one. We have wood floors in the living room and bedroom and then tile in the kitchen. The bedroom, living room and bathroom were all much bigger. The kitchen is insanely small but we make it work. Other than that the apt is wonderful! It really feels like home.

January: January was not quite as eventful but still a good month. I started a new semester at school and was busy with that. Then even better is I received a promotion at work and a raise! It really was a great way to start out the year. To make the month interesting though...we had a pipe burst in our apt and had to have some repairs done...but not before there was a good amount of damage. Our wood floors were warped pretty bad and the wall had to be torn apart. It was in our bedroom too which was such a nice thing to see when you wake up and go to sleep. We did get it all fixed and back to normal though.

February: This month was a really great month. Not anything too major school or work wise for me but Cameron did receive a raise at work. It was a great blessing. Then we had our six month anniversary! It was a really amazing day. Cameron spoiled me with a new set of dishes-but not before spoiling himself with some onesy pj's that looked like a superman suite. Then we spent the day celebrating. We went to lunch and then we went shopping, then we went ice skating at the Galivan Center downtown followed by dinner and dessert. It was a really fun day. Then a few days later we had Valentines day. Cameron again was really sweet and spoiled me. You will have refer to the prior blog post to see what he did. February was a really great month.

March/April: These past couple months were crazy. Cameron was super busy at work preparing for conference. He worked nearly 50 hours a week if not more for more than a month. I was super busy with my job due to my promotion and didnt have much of a social life. Cameron was really patient with me as I worked on keeping my grades up. During conference weekend, I hardly saw Cameron as he had to work that whole weekend. He was one of the many really important people that keep conference running. I had never understood or thought about all that must be done. I really appreciate all the work now. He worked Friday from 5 am to 6:30pm then 3am to 5:30pm on Saturday. I was lucky enough to get to go to his work and eat breakfast with him on Saturday. Then he had to work from 3am to 3pm on Sunday. It was a long weekend and the first time that I had not had him around all the time. It was hard but we made it through it. Finally the middle of April I finished up school for the summer and got all A's! I was really happy. My hard work had paid off. We also got to spend some quality time with Cameron's siblings before they went home to Ohio for the summer. Now onto summer and enjoying life with no homework! And this is the last 9 months of our crazy life!

Valentines Day

Its official I have the cutest and most creative husband ever! I just love that guy! Cameron really knows how to spoil me and be romantic all at the same time. Cameron made Valentines Day really great!

As I was leaving work last night, he text me and said to text him when I was in the parking lot of our apt. So I did just that. I pulled into our garage and on the wall was pink cut out hearts and a note. I got out of the car and read the note.


I followed the clues to my front door. On the front door was another note that had another clue.


After I finished reading the note I opend the front door to find my first gift.


I absolutely love the movie When in Rome! I was so excited that Cameron had gotten me that movie! Following the first gift, I was to find my next clue. In the meantime, Cameron had cut out pink hearts and had them all over the floor as a trail to my clues. It was so so cute!


The next clue led me to our bedroom. The bed and floor were covered in the pink hearts and then I found the next clue and note on my pillow.


After reading the note and following the clue I found the next gift!


Tommy Boy is another one of my favorites! It is one of those movies that you could just quote and quote, and before you know it, you have gone through the whole movie haha.
My next clue led me to the kitchen where I found my next gift. I was so excited! Cameron remembered that I love Mrs. Backer's cake. It is one of my favorite bakeries. So he got both of us a cupcake! They were really cute and looked like daisies-my favorite flower! He really thinks of everything!


My last and final clue led me the living room where the room was candle lit and music playing. Cameron was waiting in the living room for me with a beautiful arrangement of red roses! They were so beautiful. I was so surprised at how much thought and effort he put into making Valentines day so amazing!



Following all of my cute surprises and fun clue hunting, Cameron took me to dinner at Spaghetti Factory! It was such a great dinner-even if we had to wait almost an hour to eat. The whole night was amazing! Cameron really went above and beyond to make the holiday very special. I have the best husband a girl could ever imagine. I love him so much!

The Year of The Wedding

This year has been full of weddings! We have been to a wedding-whether our own or someone elses-every month since May! Its been crazy! Its been so great though. Its been so awesome to share the same year with so many great people in my life! Most exciting though, this year is shared by many of my siblings and my parents. 2011 has been a very special year for weddings in my family.

First, my step-sister Amber married Jake Cook on May 21. It was really fun to be able to go to Vernal and attend her wedding ceremony. Not only did we get a fun road trip, but we got to see a lot of great family members that we dont see very often.

The next big day in the family was June 7th. My dad and my step-mom Marilyn got sealed for all time and eternity in the Bountiful temple this day. We were so excited for them. They were married on June 7th 2005. But they worked really hard to get to the temple. I am so proud of them and so happy for them to be sealed to each other forever.

The next big day was my own! Cameron and I were married in the Bountiful temple on August 11. Despite many trials and mishaps with the wedding planning, our wedding day was beautiful and perfect. I couldnt ask for anyone better to be married to. I love Cameron and cant wait to spend forever with him!

Next up was my step-brother Tyler and his wife Mandy. They were married on September 3. Mandy and Tyler dated for 8 years before their big day! We were so excited to see them tie the knot and have Mandy officially join the family.

Finally, the last marriage of the year was just last week. Whitnee and Justin were married on November 18th in the Draper temple. It was a beautiful wedding! The only downside was it was super cold outside for pictures. But still the day was perfect and she looked beautiful. I am so happy for her and Justin.

2011 has been an amazing year for my family. We are all so happy to share the same year to be married. It really is so special to share that with my parents too. I am sure that it has been hard for all of my parents to lose all of their kids to marriage in a short time. However, at least it was all done fast and quick. Its been really great and we look forward to what 2012 will bring us as well.

Wedding Day!!

Cameron and I were married on August 11. It was such a beautiful day! The weather was very nice...extremely hot and even humid but it was still blue sky and sunny. The day started off very early with me getting my hair done at 8:30. Following my hair I had to hurry home and finish my makeup and getting ready to go to the temple. Finally I was all packed. At 10:45 Cameron picked me up to drive to the temple. Following a few minutes of paperwork it was time to get into my dress. After what felt like forever, it was time to be married. I was so excited and nervous. But it was the best feeling. At noon we were offically married. It was the best experience of my entire life. I got to share it with my closet friends and family. It was so beautiful. After it was all complete the sealer looked at me and said Mrs. Cabe...I totally looked over at Camerons mom when he said this lol. It was so strange to be called Mrs. Cabe. But I love it! Here are a few pictures of the temple:







Following the temple we had our reception at the Wight House in Bountiful. It turned out really great! My mom and grandma and everyone at the fabric store really made the reception so beautiful. Despite a few issues like the water jug breaking and spilling everywhere or my jacket for my wedding dress being left at the temple and having to buy a new one at the last second, the reception went very smoothly and turned out great. It was such a beautiful day!! Even better is that yesterday we celebrated our one month aniversary! I cant believe how fast time has gone. Its been a fantastic month! I am looking forward to many many more!

Wedding Mishaps

Its been a real adventure planning this wedding! We have had a million and one things go wrong. To start out the problems our invitations were a mess! My mom would not decide on a person to do them. So when we finally made a decision on the person, it was the middle of July. They should have been out by then. But we got them going and all was well. Or so you would think... The invitations themselves looked really great. I was very happy with them. However, the envelopes had the wrong return address on them. Then after we made labels to go over them, and sent out the invites, Cameron's mom noticed that the church in Ohio had the wrong address. It was a nightmare! Even worse is the guy who did them didnt have them ready until the very end of July. It was awful. I would not recommend him.

Once this mess was finally taken care of, the food became a problem. I didnt want to serve food at my wedding. I just wanted dessert. So I chose cheesecake. We had just planned on getting them from Costco. Well that was a nice idea. When we went to order them, they said they were not making them anymore. I was dying. So we went a million other places and then finally returned to Costco and pleaded with the manager. Luck was on our side and they agreed to make our cheesecake!! So happy! Problem solved!

But the biggest and the worst of them all was our reception center CAUGHT ON FIRE!!!! It was honestly my worst nightmare coming true. 10 days before my wedding the reception center had a fire. Not exactly good timing!! I was in tears and a mess all day. Luckily prayers were answered and the Wight House was available on my date. We booked it! Its been a fairly easy transition over there. Not my first choice, but it will still be really pretty and nice. I am just grateful it was available. However, the only reason it was, was the couple that had it booked broke up....sad for them...good for us. But hey it worked out and it will be nice.

I am just hoping and praying that we can make it through this next week and not have any more problems. Crossing our fingers!!

Birthday Weekend

This weekend was full of fun!! I got to start celebrating my birthday Thursday and continue celebrating all through the weekend! Thursday we celebrated my birthday at work. It was really fun! They brought cake and everyone got together and ate and chatted. It was a nice break from work. Then on Friday Cameron surprised me and took me to my favorite restaurant-Macaroni Grill-for my birthday! The food was great as usual and it was great to celebrate and enjoy my birthday with Cameron. After dinner we got to go bowling with Amberly and Joe! I just love them! Joe kicked everyone's trash at bowling and lets just say I am not going pro anytime soon.




Then on Saturday I started out the day with a bridal shower! I was really excited to see all of my friends and celebrate. It was pretty fun. I got some pretty interesting gifts lol. But my favorite of them all was my sister gave me a fish! Cameron and I now have our first pet! Cameron took the liberty of naming him and we are now the proud owners of Pug. Yep that's what Cameron named our fish. lol Cameron really loves pugs and wants one really bad. But until we can have a dog this fish will be his pug lol.


After the shower, Heather, Jaclyn and Shell took me out for ice cream for my birthday! We went to coldstone! I love that place. Ice cream is like my biggest downfall in life lol I just love it. Then I came home and got cleaned up and then me and Cameron went to dinner with my mom and step-dad and whit and her boyfriend Justin for my birthday. We went to Robintinos! I love that place. After dinner we came back to our house and had cake and opened presents! I got some really great things! Whit gave me a George Foreman grill! I was so excited. Then my mom gave me an electric frying pan and some other great kitchen gadgets! She also gave me some movies and a nice trash can and toothbrush holder for our bathroom. My grandparents also came over and did presents with us! My grandma always give such fun gifts! This year she gave me some really cute Easter decorations!I am really excited to have cute things to put on display in my house for the holidays! Cameron gave me a super cute new shirt. I just love it.



Sunday was my actual birthday. I turned 22 this year. Man that number sounds weird. I feel like I am really getting old lol. Birthdays that fall on a Sunday are not the most exciting though lol. I got to sleep in and have a great breakfast, then we went to church. After church we went with my step-mom's family and had dinner and celebrated my birthday and my dad's birthday. I got some fun new clothes and some gift certificates to go shopping and to dinner! Cameron and I will really love the chance to go out and have a date night!
The whole weekend was full of celebration! I had a great weekend and a great birthday.
